We team up with our sister pack Cherokee for the groups last camp of the year, Aptly named Winter Camp at Blackhills Nr Bradford. Not quite winter but sometimes very cold never the less. Because of the temperature the Cubs sleep in Huts. Not quite “glamping” but the hut in indeed centrally heated. In true Scout fashion the Cubs built an outdoor fire & cooked their own breakfast of bacon & the famous eggy bread, it would have been to easy using the nice big industrial cooker that was in the hut. In addition to the usual weekend of activities that included archery, midnight walks (well 10 o’clock is quite late), bobbin arrows, pioneering picture frames & bingo finishing Sat night with a big bonfire, Inc fireworks, The Cubs did some work towards the naturalist badge. The Cubs were asked to identifying different types of trees & leafs (a nice walk in the forest)
