Over the weekend Cherokee and Arapaho Sixers & Seconders went away to High Ropes Campsite. The camp is designed to help these Cubs develop their leadership and team work skills whilst having fun.
After arrival on Friday night the Cubs had to pitch their tents with minimal help from the leaders and set out their kit before supper and bed.
Saturday started very early in the morning with a breakfast of pancakes and cereals, then it was time forĀ a challenging High Ropes course around the tree tops. This tested many of the Cubs nerves and confidence but all of them gave it their very best! After lunch we had a go at fire lighting without matches, bivvy building and a scavenger hunt. All of the Cubs helped to prepare and cook their tea before the traditional campfire with a ‘Cubs got Talent’ twist!
On Sunday morning everyone once again cooked their own breakfast of sausages and eggy bread before striking camp. We then headed off to the beach at Cleethorpes for an afternoon of sand castle building, chips and ice creams before returning back to the Den all tired out.
