On Saturday a team of leaders, parent helpers & Explorers set out to start the enormous task of creating an enclosed cooking area. With the digger on site everyone started by having to move barrows of mud, rocks and large bits of concrete.
After filling the skip with what seemed like most of Hessle’s mud everyone tucked into a well earned bacon sandwich.
Sunday came and the team reconvened down at the den starting with tea and coffee. We all got on with shifting the stones ready to lay the bed for the sand to be put on. This took us most of the day having to hand barrow the stones from the car park to the den.
We were joined on Sunday by lots of helpers who turned their hand to everything from giving our cooking boxes a good clean, to unblocking the drains.
All of this work goes to making a better place for activities to be run and for everyone to have a good time. Thank you to everyone involved it was a great weekend.
