Tonight Hessle Beavers completed their cyclist badge.  To start the evening we discussed why it’s important to wear safety equipment like a helmet, reflective clothing and lights, and everyone checked that they had their helmets on correctly.  They then undertook four cycling activities: testing skills cycling between cones; checking tyres were pumped up correctly and looking at the different types of pumps that are available; testing balancing skills cycling slowly along a wiggly line; understanding and practicing cycling along a road, using hand signals to turn a corner and using brakes.  All the Beavers then completed a few circuits of the car park, showing off their new skills.  Big thanks to all the parents that assisted us in the snow (in April!?!?).
