Apache Scouts had a night of ‘Backwoods Cooking’ on the Hessle foreshore. The scouts split in to teams and prepared their fires, looking at all aspects of preparation,  fire lighting and cooking on open fires. The scouts then cooked rice dishes as well as camping ready meals. The new ‘Ghillie kettle’ purchased by Hessle Scout Group was also tried out for the first time,which boiled 1.4 litres in 5 minutes. – very impressive.
